I am a serial black bag buyer. If in doubt (which I usually am when I'm bag shopping) go for the black bag. The black bag goes with everything, sits there silently on your shoulder and will probably stay in your possession for months until the next black bag appears, taking it's place. My serial buying of the black bag was suddenly interrupted on my recent birthday when one of my family bought me this deep green bag from Topshop. My first and not very original thought when unwrapped this bag was 'it's green?'. It was a gorgeous bag, lined at the sides with black snake skin, there was no doubt this bag was right at the cutting edge of style. The doubt was if I could wear it convincingly, it was worlds of bags away from the plain black leather I was used to. But as tradition on my birthday I put everything I had new on to go out for my birthday lunch. The more I looked down at the bag I clutched in my hand, the more I thought, 'this goes well with my outfit', the more time I wore it, the more compliments I received on my bag. I loved that my bag was a bit different, the green dark enough to blend in with many different outfits, but striking enough to stand out.
This bag is definitely my new obsession, and more than that, I have been loving browsing all the gorgeous green bags out there. If you are also a serial black bag buying like me, consider taking the plunge on a green bag. Green is definitely my new black.
