Glorious Gingham.

One of my favourite fashion trends at the minute for spring is Gingham. Can you simply get more british? Whenever I see it I want to just get my china cup and cucumber sandwiches out! It is simply such a beautiful and dainty pattern that looks fantastic on any item of clothing. Even if you're not from Britain, just embrace your inner posh and go get yourself some gingham. I feel like it just looks so classic and spring like, and the usual colours you find gingham in are pastels, which is also lovely for spring. I have picked out a few of my favourite highstreet gingham pieces for you here.

Spring 2014 Fashion Picks.

Hello Lovelies!

Today I am going to share my Spring 2014 Fashion Picks, I have seen so many lovely spring fashion items in the shops at the minute and I am loving the pastel and brighter colours that are coming through in the fashion world now. It finally feels like winter is over!

First of all I want to share my favourite trend at the minute which is definitely Gingham. I freaking love gingham. It's just so beautiful and feels very English, pretty and dainty. I shall now live in gingam. No apologies.

This dress is from Topshop and looks so versatile, you could wear a shirt over, leggins under or tights and because it is black and white it would look lovely with a pop of colour within the outfit such as a coral satchel bag or the gorgeous pink coats that are in the shops now.

This next gingham dress is from Motel Rocks and I love the pastel pink and white gingham I think it is the essence of spring and summer, I also love the neckline of this dress, it would look nice in the evening with some heels or sandals in the summer.

The next pick is another pastel colour. This blouse is from Missguided and it is a lovely pastel lilac. I have never really considered wearing purple, it is not my go to colour, but this is a beautiful pale lilac and would look lovely with some high wasted jeans or leggins or a skirt for a more summery look. It is just a really cute design with a little collar and slightly cropped. Beautiful!

An item that I think would look really lovely to dress up the lilac cropped blouse is this leather skirt from Asos. I have no idea if leather skirts are in at the moment or if they are even a 'spring' kind of look. But I saw the fashion blogger Sincerely Jules on instagram (look her up she's just amazing!) wearing a leather skirt with layers of jumpers and denim shirts and other tops that just looked really classy and can be dressed up or dressed down. And I was looking for the ideal leather skirt and came across this one, I just love its simplicity. I am really not cool enough to pull off the zips and chains that are on some leather skirts! nice, plain and simple :)

This next pick is something that I have been stalking in Topshop for sooo long. It is this mint fluffy jumper. Fluffy jumpers especially in brights are my spring obsession, even though the weather is brighter now here in England. You still need to keep warm, I think these jumpers are thin enough not so you overheat but will still keep you warm. Mint is also an obession of mine but all year round, it is just so uplifting, uplifting mint.. yes, lovely..mmm..minty.

A slightly more crazy spring choice which I never ever thought I would like anything like this but when I saw them in River Island I just have needed them ever since. They are very colourful high waisted shorts with a chain detailing on the belt. I just think on a spring evening with a white tee or white cami and these plain black dainty heels from Missguided, these shorts would look lovely and brighten up your outfit for spring.

I love those simple black heels from Missguided, as you can probably tell I love items that can work with  of a lot of different outfits, and these shoes would dress up and look good with; jeans, skirts, dresses, shorts and basically every outfit you can think of. I NEED these. No question about that.

Next is a pair of leggins, I am very skeptical about patterned leggins, i just don't think they suit me and I have worn plain black leggins for so long that anything with a pattern on literally freaks me out. Buuut.. I saw these  high waisted, grey scale tartan leggins on the Missguided website and have fallen in love, I love the pattern and the fact they are grey means they will go with any colour top or shoes. They also look really classy which I think some other patterned leggins don't. So LOVE these, yes please.

My final spring pick is my absolute FAVOURITE. They make me happy to just look at them and the best part is that they are only £24.99. (So they better not be gone before I get paid).. They are these white sandals from New look. I have seen these on an increasing number of people and I can see why, they are just a really nice spring shoe, and a nice casual alternative to boots or flats. They would look so nice with a bright dress or skirt to get into the spring mood! I just think with some fake tan and bright toe nails they would look gorgeous with any outfit. So go and buy them, go now.. (not if you're a size four, I need some for me).

They are so beautiful.. *sigh*

Thank you so much for reading :)

Let me know what fashion picks you have been loving this spring!

Weight? What?

Weight is such a talked about thing. Everyone has their own idea of the 'perfect' weight, what is 'over' weight and what is 'under' weight. Personally I have very fixed views on weight and the issues surrounding it, which I think has helped me to increase in confidence about my own weight and whenever my weight changes. I would just like to say I am not at all talking about weight that needs to be medically altered whether at either ends of the scale, that is totally different, I am just talking about body confidence and slight changes you can do :)

First of all, all I know is that the most important thing about weight to remember whether you are as light as a feather or have a bit more to give, is that you are healthy. Generally, as my boyfriend works in a hospital, It seems that there is an awful lot of people suffering with heart related issues, this really sticks with me as it helps me make the right food choices not necessarily for my weight but for my general health. (The ticker needs some attention!) You can gradually cut down on how many bags of crisps you have in a day, or have one strip of chocolate at night rather than the whole bar, I find that with my bad habits, cutting down is far more successful than cutting out. I love salt on everything, cutting out would last me a day and probably be out of the question.

Second of all it's important to remember to love yourself, you are beautiful just as you, if you have curves, appreciate them, if you are slim, appreciate that and if you are inbetween just have a little boogie about being you.

If you want to change the way you are, never ever do it drastically, not only will you do damage to your health but once the dramatic regime has worn off, it is more than likely that you will go back to your natural body shape. Replace crisps with a banana and all that cliche health advice and what not.. you will have heard this a bazillion times from magazines and health blogs, but once you actually do it on a small scale for like a week it's so much easier to change the habit! And take one bad habit at a time, fight the rabbit before taking on a bear or so to speak.

Personally I think that if anyone has an opinion on your weight other than its perfect then it is rude, do not let anyone comment on your weight unless they are genuinely in your best interests by doing so, calling someone a 'skinny minnie' or telling someone to 'eat more' is the same equivalent to telling someone to 'eat less', and that is generally known as being very rude. People may think that alot of people's ideal body weight is to be slim, so it could be seen as a compliment, when sometimes this isn't the case. As you wouldn't generally comment on someone's face that they can't change, that is often the case with their weight, changing you're weight, especially drastically is not something that in most cases that is healthy or easy.

On a practical level for loving your own weight and embracing how you are is that it is helpful not to weigh myself often, if not at all as it can become a slight obsession very easily, do not discuss you're weight with anyone else, this will not help to ever compare with other people, that is your personal business no one elses. And I find those conversations often leave someone dissapointed and not thinking of themselves in a positve way.  And finally, remember you have one life, one body and there will only ever be one you. So LOVE youself, love your Beyonce booty or Kendal Jenner silhouette, you're beautiful however you are!

I hope this has helped some of you

My new lipstick love.

Hello lovelies!

Today I am going to review my new beauty obsession which is the Rimmel Lasting Finish Lipstick by Kate Moss. For a long time I searched for a perfect drugstore lipstick that would last all day! I would usually find my lipstick on my teeth, my hands and my face but it would never stay on my lips!! I have no idea how this happens?! But recently I have discovered these Kate Moss lipsticks by Rimmel and love them so so much!

The colours I have so far from the collection are number 113 and 111, but I will definitely be going back to get more! As you can tell the lighter one has been so loved already, it's so good for every day and goes with every outfit and can be enhanced with gloss over or a lip liner! The darker one is a newer purchase that I have not stopped wearing everytime I go out for a meal or in the evening. It is such a beautiful bold, bright red and it has no hints of pink in at all which I like as I wanted a definite red lipstick that doesn't turn pink if it wears off slightly which I have found with a lot of red lipsticks.

These are both matt lipsticks which I love, I think they look so classy and the more glossy lipsticks and lip glosses tend to get my long hair stuck to them which is very annoying when walking down the street, and sticky hair with lip gloss all over your face is never a good look.. at least not on me.

And also these lipsticks are under £6 in Superdrug which is a brilliant bargain for the amount of time they last on the lips which is a lot better than some drugstore lipsticks. I cannot find anything wrong with this line of lipsticks and I really need to be held back from buying them all!

I hope you enjoyed my mini product review and if you have seen anything in the drugstore you love or any more colours of this line that look good then I would love to know!

Thank you so much for reading :) <3

Have a lovely day!

March Favorites.

Hello lovelies!
How is it April already? This year is flying by! Very scary.. As it is (near) the end of march I thought id tell you about some of my favourite things I have been loving this month, mainly beauty things but there are a few random things in there!

Firstly I have been loving this cucumber clay cooling mask by superdrug. I felt like my skin was abit dull after the winter and wanted something to cleanse and make my skin feel fresh again and this worked a treat! And the best part is that it's only 99p! So if you want to give your skin a bit of a lift this product is perfection!

Next is the rimmel lasting finish 25 hour foundation in the colour soft beige 200. This foundation has been my favourite for a while now and because I'm a full coverage girl I just find that it lasts all day with brilliant coverage but doesn't look cakey. Love love love this foundation.

My most loved lip product this month has to be the Revlon colour burst lip butter in sugar frosting. I just find myself reaching for it automatically every single day! It's a gorgeous light pink with a sheen to it, but it isn't ridiculously pigmented so it looks really really natural on the lips. It's perfect for everyday! Love!

The next item in my beauty favourites is the bonjour bronzer in number 55. This is amazing!! I use it for bronzing my whole face, contouring, shadow and just straight onto my cheeks sometimes. Such a versatile matte bronzer which I especially love for contouring at the minute. And I think it's under £7 which is a bargain for the amount of things you can use it for!

My favourite nail colour this month is from topshop, it doesn't look the most exciting colour but on I just find that it looks so sophisticated and goes with so many different outfits. Sometimes if I'm wearing something abit more daring like red and then I want to wear a pink jumper or something I just get so annoyed! Then you have to choose between your nail colour or the outfit you want to wear and I hate that so this is why I adore this nail colour, goes with everything!!

Finally in my beauty favourites this month is a primer from rimmel, now with primers I was always under the impression that the only good primers were high end ones that cost the earth, but I tried this one as I really like the rimmel range and I love it! I really do think it helps keep my face set with my foundation and it just makes my skin feel soft and even when I'm not wearing foundation on a no make up day I pop this on and it makes my skin feel glorious! All thumbs up for this product, I don't think it will leave my make up bag for a long long time!

Now onto my more random favourites from March..

I have been wearing these shoes a lot in March and I just think they are very spring and summery and just brighten up my day! They were also a bargain from Primark at just £8!! They look great with either leggins or jeans and a baggy plain white tee which I have been wearing them with, or a denim shirt. They have made me so happy! Definitely a favourite!

My next favourite is this Borg denim jacket from Topshop, for a long time I stalked this jacket in store and on the Topshop website and I think it came to the point where the shop assistants just thought I was so strange! But I was worried that it might not suit me and it was about 60 pounds which is actually quite a lot of money for one item! But I finally cracked and got it  and since I have just found that it is so warm, you can wear it with everything and I think it really would suit anybody! Love this jacket so much and I would wear it all day every day if I could.

My final favourite is actually a blessing and a curse to my world, you can never just have one mini egg. It's impossible. The other day I ate a whole packet in 20 minutes and didn't even realise until my hand was scrambling around an empty packet.. I don't even want to think about how many packets I have gone through in March, I think it would terrify me. But hey ho all in the aid of getting into the eater spirit (such a good excuse, I know..)

That's everything! i really hope you enjoyed my March favourites, I certainly have, and i think everything on it you can still get in stores now :) woop! Thank you for reading!

Toodlepip!
